When cheery music wafts throughout the neighborhood, we all know what it means. Soon, an ice cream truck with an awe-inspiring array of colorful, satisfying, exciting treats will arrive on your street. It’s the perfect thing to take the edge off a blistering hot summer day. Yum. You might wonder why I’m thinking about ice cream trucks now! But, as I wave goodbye to summer, I ponder what it takes to offer joy to every neighborhood in town. It takes a truck, inventory, and sign painting. Freezers in good working order. Enthusiastic customers. Employees excited about taking the product to every house in every neighborhood.
The humbling part is that you can have every one of those things and still not accomplish the mission.
You can have everything you need, but the final critical piece is ensuring the gas tank is full so you can get to where you are going. It’s not that different than a media company! Four years ago, Blue Mountain Broadcasting stepped out in faith and invested in a permanent home, a project many contributed to for decades. Despite being temporarily waylaid by the pandemic, we are moving rapidly!
As technology changes media changes, and today, BMB can create, curate, and distribute content that can reach more viewers than ever. The expanded reach, content development, ongoing building adaptations, and tech upgrades happen because you have committed to connecting viewers with Jesus, some for the first time. Today, this ministry is housed in a dedicated space; there is inventory and sets. There are enthusiastic viewers and talented employees excited and ready to take the good news to every house in every neighborhood.
There is just one thing left before we hit the road. We need to fill the gas tank. The needle is too close to empty, and the progress will stall without you. Are you ready to fill the tank, step on the gas, and send the Good News to every nook and cranny of the neighborhood? Will you join others in our community to fill the tank?
Together, we will keep this oasis of spiritual refreshment on air, taking the joy of Jesus to every neighborhood, near and far. Thank you for your faithful generosity and prayers.
