Your Tech Questions, Answered

Your Tech Questions, Answered.

One thing is certain. Technology changes fast! We are committed to keeping up to date, but as you can imagine, it is complicated and costly. Sometimes, things change that affect your viewing. While we try to get information out as quickly and effectively as possible, it is more complex than it looks!   So we asked Carmen Kearns, our executive assistant, to keep track of the most frequently asked questions and comments she receives from viewers. From that, we’ve compiled a list of answers to help you always find Blue Mountain Television!

There’s no sound and my screen froze? Why isn’t it working?

There are several possibilities. If you receive the broadcast via an antenna, you may occasionally experience weather disturbances or other signal interference. We do our best to keep the broadcast stable on every channel. Still, we recommend that you periodically check to ensure you are tuned to the best channel for your area. In the Walla Walla Valley, those are channels 21.1, 28.1, and 36.1, Spanish at 21.2, 28.2 and 36.2

If you watch Blue Mountain Television on Spectrum Cable, disruption may mean you are watching on Channel 179, the standard definition channel. Please switch to Cable Channel 779 to benefit from a sharper, high-definition picture.

Village Church and the Hope Channel aren’t coming in correctly. Help!

Occasionally, the Hope Channel or Village Church feeds are disrupted. BMT does not generate this programming ourselves, so whenever we receive an alert, we do our best to mitigate any issue that may contribute to the disruptions.

Where did the ROKU Channel go? I miss it!

This spring, we were blessed with an opportunity to expand our streaming services. Now, in addition to ROKU, our channel is available on Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV.

We also renamed our Streaming service to Bluestream by Blue Mountain Broadcasting. Why? With streaming, our content is now available worldwide and less geographically focused. We were thrilled when we recently received a letter from a viewer in Jamaica who enjoys watching! Our app extends the opportunity to spend time with Jesus to more viewers.

So, how do you get it? If you had the ROKU channel, it automatically became Bluestream, as shown below. You should see the icon in your app listings. If you can not find it, search “Bluestream.” On Apple TV, you will need to search “Bluestream Media.” Once downloaded, you will be able to watch the live feed, as well as locally produced shows on demand.

One final note: You can also get Bluestream on your mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. On the Google Play Store, search “Bluestream.” Search “Bluestream Media” in the app store if you are a macOS user. Then, install it on your phone and tablet to watch anywhere.   Now, you can catch BMT on the go or whenever your schedule allows. Share local episodes with your friends and neighbors, and rewatch your favorites whenever you’d like!   If none of these work, please call the office. We have volunteer technicians who will help you work through the issues, or even come to your home to help troubleshoot.

BMT is my favorite! How can I support it?

Every day, BMB allows viewers to connect with their community and spend time with Jesus, some for the first time. We are so grateful to provide programming you can enjoy and share with your family and friends! There are other ways you can share as well! Please invite your friends to like us on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube; share the Bluestream App or Broadcast Channels with your neighbors; volunteer an hour or two a month to help spread the word or complete a project; bring a friend for a facility tour!

In addition, the most significant way to make an impact is to give a monthly gift. It’s easy to feel that a small monthly donation doesn’t make a difference, but it does! Giving any size gift each month goes a long way toward keeping Blue Mountain Television available to nearly half a million regional viewers and worldwide on the Bluestream app!

Let’s keep working together to share the character of God. Pray for our community, friends, neighbors, and families. Pray that we know how much we matter to a Savior who gave His life to be with us for eternity. We are loved and valuable and invited to come to Him, just as we are.
