  The Quiet Miracle

The room was quiet as I pulled up the covers, exhausted after a long, hectic day. My heart was in turmoil. For thirty-three years, God has abundantly blessed Blue Mountain Broadcasting. Hundreds of monthly donors have sustained this ministry for decades, while many others have given specifically to find a permanent home for it. Finally, we have made good on that promise. Yet, here we are.

Earlier that day, the Board Executive Committee had met to discuss how to respond to having less than a month of funds left in the bank to keep the broadcast on the air. As I lay there struggling to contribute a solution, I couldn’t help but be discouraged by how raising money for regular everyday operating funds is not exciting. Just like paying your electricity bill at home, it’s not as fun to keep towers up and running, the licensing fees paid, and the lights on as doing something new!

“God,” I asked in the stillness, “What now?” To my surprise, His answer was immediate and clear. “You need to let people know.” That was a little scary. But. I also know this team is committed to going on God’s errands. So, Elaine and I worked on the script the following day, Lowell and Alex filmed and edited the footage, and Carmen got the infrastructure ready. We prayed together and laid it at the feet of Jesus.

We were entirely unprepared for what happened next.

We were entirely unprepared for what happened next. When God works, He works in a mighty way. It is an absolute privilege to tell you that God used YOU to make all things work together for good.

You see, sometimes we can get discouraged. Because our viewership is not large enough to be calculated through rating services, we must blindly broadcast and pray someone is touched. We hear anecdotal stories that raise our spirits, which is energizing, but often, we only from viewers when something is broken. We are gladly here to solve broadcast issues, but that doesn’t provide a complete picture of the ministry’s impact.

So God not only used you to help this ministry financially, but you also gave our employees, volunteers, and Board of Directors a tremendous boost of energy and inspiration! As of today, the community has contributed nearly $40,000. As a 100% community-supported station, your response has also affirmed the value of this resource for the community. What a blessing! Thank you!

While we are not out of the woods yet, you have made a significant impact. Thank you

While we are not out of the woods yet, you have made a significant impact. Thank you. Some have asked if our new facility is why our resources are so thin. While moving is expensive, over the past 33 years, supporters have given funds specifically to buy a dedicated facility. As a non-profit, we must use those funds for their intended purpose and are blessed to fulfill that promise. What has changed most is the steady, smaller monthly gifts that support ongoing operations, which have dwindled over the past decade. So what now?

We have set a goal of adding 275 monthly donors during our Fall Fundraiser from November 26 through December 2.

We are grateful for large gifts, and they are sustaining us. In addition, we have set a goal of adding 275 monthly donors during our Fall Fundraiser from November 26 through December 2. Working together, a monthly gift of $10, $30, $100, $250, or more will rebuild a stable foundation for Blue Mountain Broadcasting. If you still need to become a monthly donor, please consider becoming one. If you already are a donor, consider increasing your monthly gift by a few dollars or inviting a friend to give.

Together, we will continue to offer precious viewers the opportunity to spend time with Jesus, some for the first time. I am honored to be working with you to share this precious gift. Thank you.

With more to be thankful for than I could have imagined,

Lynelle Ellis,
Executive Director

PS. If you haven’t stopped by our facility, please do! So many have given gifts to make this dream a reality! See how God is using those gifts, and meet the excellent staff and volunteers who are making it happen!
